Quechee, VT - Valentine's Day is not just a day for chocolates and roses. It's also a day for Barn Owls. Join VINS at the VINS Nature Center in Quechee on Monday, February 12, 2005, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and discover why people sometimes refer to this Owl as the "Valentine Owl". Through live owl presentations, crafts, games and stories, participants will learn all about the lives of these beautiful birds and make homemade Valentine's Day Cards as well. Fees: member adult $5, member child $2; non-member adult $12, non-member child $8.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, VINS is also encouraging people to consider adopting a Barn Owl from VINS as a unique gift for that special loved one. Because VINS is a non-profit, this gift is tax-deductible and helps to feed and care for all of VINS live raptors housed at the VINS Nature Center and used in its various educational programs. Not only will your loved one receive a beautiful photo and fact sheet on a Barn Owl, they will also receive a certificate to commemorate the gift.

The VINS Nature Center is located just 1/4 mile west of Quechee Gorge on Route 4 in Quechee, VT. Open 7 days a week all year round. Admission is $8 for adults and $6.50 for children. The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is a non-profit, member-supported organization headquartered in Woodstock, VT with locations in Quechee, Montpelier, and Manchester, VT.
