Suggestions and Reminders for ELF Coordinators

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources is sponsoring the "Thinking Outside the Box" grant program for students and teachers. These small grants (up to $ 500) are intended to help solve environmental problems or to create more healthy and sustainable conditions in Vermont schools, neighborhoods, and communities. Deadline for applications is December 16, 2005. For more information, go to the ANR website

Most school boards begin planning next year's school budget; submit a request to school board and principal for school's financial support of your ELF program. The cost of ELF for the 2006-07 school year will increase by 5% over the fee for 2005-06. Regular towns: $3360; double towns: $4000; triple towns: $4620; graduate towns: $1150.

Check in with classroom teachers that all is going well in their ELF classes.
