Join us for a week of science sleuthing, VINS-Style! Through daily themes and eco-quests, campers will become nature detectives and solve a natural history mystery everyday. By the end of the week campers will earn a certification as a VINS Nature Investigator! So grab your sleuthing cap, and get ready to follow the clues. You never know where they may lead!

All across the natural world, animals undergo amazing transformations in order to adapt to their surroundings. From frozen frogs, to flying fish, the Vermont wilderness is certainly "more than meets the eye." During this unforgettable week, your child will explore the world of animal adaptations through hands-on discoveries, nature based games and daily explorations.

Music is everywhere in the natural world, from the songs of sparrows to the rustling of beech leaves, to the rushing of water through the Quechee Gorge. Join us for a week worth listening to as we use all of our senses to discover the science and art of making music. Camp culminates with a trip to the VINS Nature Center to jam with The Junkman, a nationally renowned percussionist and environmental educator.

A rare chance to experience what few adults could even imagine, an up close experience with nature’s most perfect hunting machine—the Raptor! Join VINS’ expert educators for a week of behind-the-scenes raptor investigation! Learn what makes raptors such perfect hunters, discover the secrets of raptor training, and try your hand at some basic training techniques. Get ready for an unforgettable week with eagles, owls, hawks, falcons and so much more!

You will certainly get your feet wet during a fun-packed week of aquatic exploration! Throughout the week, your child will explore Vermont’s diverse wetland habitats, take scientific measurements, and discover first hand how scientists assess the health of aquatic ecosystems. We also will look below the water’s surface and investigate the amazing animals that make the water their home. Grab a net, put on your thinking caps and dive in for a week of Aqua Adventures!

Imagine a world without cell phones, televisions, and grocery stores. Would you know how to survive? Join us as we learn the art of survival by studying the masters—the animals living in the forests, fields and streams of Vermont. We will learn to build shelters from natural materials, create fire from friction, and develop other fascinating wilderness survival skills.

Are you fascinated by both technology and the natural world? Discover the many ways in which science and gadgetry are used to study and protect the plants and animals of Vermont. Learn about technology like computer mapping, solar power, radio telemetry and much more as we embark on a series of adventures. By the end of the week you will be proud to be called an "enviro-geek"!
