.
Published: October 5, 2011

Quechee, VT — The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is proud to host author Joe Sherman for a free lecture as part of the Local First Alliance Fall Speaker Series. On Thursday, October 13 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sherman will discuss his latest book, Young Vermonters: Not an Endangered Species. In his book, Sherman challenges the conviction that young Vermonters cannot live in Vermont: “that it’s too expensive for them, they can’t find jobs, that they can’t make it here.” He and Martina Tesarova interviewed men and women in their twenties and thirties who represent a cross section of interests, jobs, education and locale. Their stories about building a life in Vermont are rich and sad, funny and inspiring. Sherman will present a book lecture followed by a question and answer session. Joe Sherman and Martina Tesarova live in Montgomery, Vermont. Joe is a writer of international acclaim. Martina, a native of Prague, Czech Republic is a translator and photographer. For more information about Joe Sherman and his publications, please visit www.joesherman.com.
