MoonQuechee, VT — VINS is joining forces with the Dartmouth College Astronomy Department and the Quechee Library to celebrate International Observe the Moon Night. On Saturday, October 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., children, adults and families are invited to enjoy a night of hands-on activities and moon exploration.

The evening kicks off with a talk by Brian Chaboyer, professor of Astronomy at Dartmouth, titled The Moon: Our Celestial Neighbor. After the talk, families will explore the moon through a telescope, make a moon crater, hear a story and meet a live bird up close.

Participants should bring a flashlight and warm layers, as this is an outdoor event. International Observe the Moon Night will be held at VINS Nature Center and is free and open to all members of the public. For more information, please visit www.vinsweb.org or www.observethemoonnight.org.
