Sponsor Form and Species Checklist (pdf)

A special thanks to Simon Pearce who donated 100% of the profits from in-store sales of their hand-blown glass bird paperweights between April 20th and May 22nd!

With less than ideal birding conditions, the Quechee Staff Team identified 26 different species in only one hour at the VINS Nature Center. This windy Birdathon day was a unique experience for many of the VINS administration staff, who were skillfully guided by our birding experts in VINS Wildlife Services and Education. VINS Manchester staff "Team SCAT" (Such Cool Avian Trackers) identified 23 different species in the Equinox Preservation.

Birdathon FAQ

What? Birdathon is like a walkathon. Participants collect pledges for every bird species they identify instead of every mile they walk.

Who? Everyone! Expert, novice, and backyard birders - VINS members and non-members.

When? Choose any day between May 9th and 16th to find and identify as many species as possible. You can go birding anywhere for as long as you want on that day.

Why? Birdathon is a FUN way to raise funds for VINS' efforts in avian wildlife rehabilitation, environmental research and environmental education. And it's great way to learn the bird species that co-inhabit our environment.

THANK YOU to Simon Pearce and Farm-Way!
